Singhadurbar Vaidyakhana Vikas Samiti (SDVKVS)

Realizing the need for promoting & upgrading the production and marketing of Ayurvedic Medicines in the country in an organized way, Nepal Government decided to form a development board in 2051 BS. As a result, the existing Singhadurbar Vaidyakhana began to run as Singhadurbar Vaidyakhana Vikas Samiti (SDVKVS) since July 1995 (2052BS). It is expected that it will also help to strengthen national economy by producing qualitative Ayurvedic Medicines of international standards & promoting exports. Both the office & factory of SDVKS are located in Kathmandu valley. It has been manufacturing more than 130 types of Ayurvedic Medicines in various forms under direct supervision of experts of the related filed. i.e.:

Churna (Powder)
Vati, Gutika (Pills & Tablets)
Avaleha (Lickablies, Linctuses)
Asava & Arista (Fomented Preprations)
Rasa-rasayana (Mercurial Preprations)
Bhasma & Pisti (Ashes & Microfined Powders)
Taila, Ghrita & Malham (Medicated Oil, Ghee & Ointment)
Varti etc.

More than 200 varieties of medicinal plants, about 50 types of minerals, metals & animal products including the marine products are being used as raw materials to prepare these medicines after proper scruntiny. Raw materials, packing materials and other essential materials are produced/obtained from the local suppliers on the competition basis.

Since the year 1997AD, some medicines are made available to the retailers in discount rate and dealers have been appointed for different development regions to facilitate easy availability of its products all over the country.
