As projected by the National Ayurveda Health Policy 2052 (1995) & actual need of the country, its main objectives are to contribute for strengthening national economy and provide qualitative health care service to the people by:

Manufacturing effective, safe & qualitative Ayurvedic Medicines (Classical as well as Trakib/Patent) by maximum utilization of natural resources in the country.
Supplying the qualitative Ayurvedic Medicines accessibly in reasonable price according to the increasing national & international demand & also promoting its popularity and proper utilization.
Providing accessible, sustainable & qualitative health services by conducting scientific research on medicinal plants & developing qualitative Ayurvedic Medicines in sufficient quantity.
Promoting qualitative business of herbs by developing model herbal farms in Himalayan, Mountaineous & Terai regions of the country (it will also serve for proper identification).
Providing essential technical knowledge for protection, promotion, collection & proper utilization of medicinal plants with people's participation & in collaboration with others sectors, which will provide income generating opportunities to the people and also upgrade ecological environment.
